PATRIZIA PAVIA: THE UNIQUE HANDBAGS LOVED BY FIORUCCI AND LACROIX

Patrizia Pavia is an Italian fashion designer with a professional path that has been articulated between various types of experiences.
Shehas collaborated with Fiorucci, Dolce & Gabbana, Valentino andalways combined her work in the company with artisan experimentation forboth clothing and accessories.
Hello Patrizia, glad to have you here in The Style Researcher Magazine. Tell us about the BAGS "objets trouvés".
First of all, thanks for inviting me. My pleasure to be in your magazine. The inspiration for these bags comes from everything that is reusable as an "irreverent" accessory.
Everything started by chance (I made my first bags during my university years - from 1989), but they were soon noticed as an innovative idea. The most recurrent criticism is to consider these “crazy” objects an artistic expression, rather than fashion accessories. The same designer Elio Fiorucci from Milan suggested exhibiting them in an art gallery rather than putting them up for sale in a shop. He told me that the shop was not enough important for bags like these ones.
They were also appreciated by the designer Christian Lacroix from Paris, who saw them as a great and ironic avant-garde.
I made some for Complice, when it was designed by Dolce & Gabbana for one collection inspired by the Venice Carnival. In addition, an article published in Sportswear International places them in the trend of "trash fashion".
This sounds such a beautiful story.
Yesthanks a lot. Over the years I have continued to make them, updatingthem to fashion trends, keeping my ironic style. All the itemsphotographed are unique pieces and were handcrafted by me, I used themmyself as my bags.
Can you remind us some exhibitions with your bags?

Patrizia Pavia è una fashion designer italiana con un percorso professionale che si è articolato tra esperienze di vario tipo. Ha collaborato con Fiorucci, Dolce & Gabbana, Valentino. Da sempre ha affiancato al lavoro in azienda la sperimentazione artigianale sia per l’abbigliamento sia per gli accessori.
Buongiorno Patrizia, un piacere averla su The Style Researcher Magazine. Può parlarci delle BORSE “objets trouvés”?
Buongiorno, grazie per avermi invitato sul vostro magazine. È un piacere essere qui. L’ispirazione di queste borse arriva da tutto ciò che è riutilizzabile come accessorio “irriverente”.
Tutto nasce per caso (le prime borse le ho fatte durante gli anni dell’università – dal 1989), ma, ben presto, sono state notate come un’idea innovativa. La critica più ricorrente è quella di considerare questi “crazy” oggetti una espressione artistica, più che degli accessori moda. Lo stesso stilista Elio Fiorucci di Milano ha suggerito di esporli in una galleria d’arte più che metterli in vendita in un negozio, considerando i negozi un posto troppo “riduttivo” per questo tipo di borse.
Sono state apprezzate anche dallo stilista Christian Lacroix di Parigi, che le ha considerate oggetti esempio di una bella ed ironica avanguardia.
Ne ho realizzate alcune per la Complice, quando era disegnata da Dolce & Gabbana per una collezione ispirata al Carnevale di Venezia. Inoltre un articolo apparso su Sportswear International li colloca nella tendenza della “trash fashion”.
Una storia interessantissima.
Negli anni ho continuato a realizzarle, attualizzandole ai trends della Moda, conservando il mio stile ironico. Tutti gli articoli fotografati sono pezzi unici e sono stati realizzati artigianalmente da me, io stessa li ho utilizzati come mie borse.
