Akis Zaralis blends photography and music to tell powerful stories. In this Style Researcher Magazine interview, he shares his creative journey, challenges, and artistic evolution. Guided by passion and persistence, he offers insight into his work and philosophy.

What first sparked your interest in your creative field?

My need to tell small stories, mainly from my life, as well as the constant passion for expression, were the reasons that led me to deal with photography mainly and music secondarily.

What has been the most challenging project or situation in your career, and how did you handle it?

Every new project for me is a new challenge. I face each one with the same passion and anxiety every time, hoping to give the meaning I want and have envisioned.

How do you relax and unwind from the pressures of your work?

I deal with the other two loves in my life. I play the bass or I work out. I try every day to devote the same time to both.

How has your creative process evolved throughout your career?

I notice my images becoming ‘’darker’’, perhaps, with a dose of melancholy, romance and hope I would say.

As a child, what did you aspire to become, and how does it compare to where you are now?

I wanted to be a musician. Despite all this, I always hear a beautiful song inside me with every image I create. Music is always the driving force before each of my creations, and my inspiration of course.

What piece of advice would you give to someone starting out in your field?

To remain faithful, to create continuously, to accept criticism but not to be significantly affected by it. To fall in love with what he does.

Do you have a personal philosophy or mantra that guides your life and work decisions?

Stay Silent. Act More.
